Opening – Analyst Position

About Tillid Group:

Tillid Group is a boutique New York City-based consulting firm focused on empowering public and private entities to make positive and sustainable change. Our team is experienced in working with monitors, regulators, and other oversight bodies to address and/or prevent potential misconduct in the criminal justice space. A key focus of the Tillid Group’s work is advancing reforms designed to reduce violence in jails operated by the City of New York—including those on Rikers Island—pursuant to the Consent Judgment in Nunez v. City of New York. Since the inception of the Consent Judgment, the professionals at Tillid Group have been an integral part of the Nunez Monitoring Team to manage the implementation and compliance assessments of the Consent Judgment.

Job Description (Analyst, Full-Time): The Analyst will work with members of the Nunez Monitoring Team to assist in all aspects of their monitoring of the New York City Department of Corrections, in addition to working on other projects as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your analytical and investigative skills and gain expertise in compliance assessments within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze routine data reports to develop, track, and summarize findings.
  • Conduct inquiries to investigate specific issues, including requesting and reviewing necessary documents and conducting interviews at client sites.
  • Prepare written reports and presentations that outline the results and conclusions of audit review activities.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Deliver high quality work within established timeframes.
  • Conduct administrative tasks such as tracking and filing various documents, and mailings.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience in identifying potential control issues and their root cause, and identifying enhancement opportunities in compliance programs a plus.
    • Knowledge of standard audit procedures and control testing routines a plus.
  • Experience in data analysis and the preparation of spreadsheets, including significant experience working within Excel (Pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP etc.).
  • Excellent writing skills. Experience drafting accurate, concise summaries of complex information.
  • Ability to effectively develop and execute work plans, and communicate status of such plans to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-4 years prior experience in a relevant industry (Project Management, Public Policy, Research, Consultant, Legal, Investigations).
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Proficient written and verbal English language skills.

Additional Details

  • Location: This position is currently fully remote, but requires telephone and video conferencing and may evolve to a hybrid role in the future. Tri-state area candidates preferred, as travel to New York City-based jails required.
